If you are driving, there is a small pay parking lot just past our store. Minivans, SUV's and Pick-up trucks will be charged $30.00. For those cars, there is another lot on Washington Street, on the right across from the Paramount Theatre building.
From the South via the Expressway (Route 93): Take Route 93North to Downtown. As you approach the city, follow signs to South Station/Financial District. Go through a few lights and turn left at Kneeland Street. Turn right at the third set of lights, onto Washington Street. At the third set of traffic lights, there is a parking lot on the right side of Washington Street, close to our store. Take the fourth left onto West Street. (First left after the Paramount Theatre building). Brattle Book Shop is on the right.
From the North via the Expressway (Route 93): Take Route 93 South to Take EXIT 20B-A toward I-90 WEST/MASS PIKE/S. Take EXIT 20A toward S. STATION. Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto PURCHASE ST/JOHN F FITZGERALD SURFACE RD. RIGHT onto SUMMER ST. Turn LEFT onto KINGSTON ST.Turn RIGHT onto DELAFAYETTE AVE.Turn RIGHT onto WASHINGTON ST.Turn RIGHT onto WASHINGTON ST. Brattle Book Shop is on the right.
From the West via the Mass Pike (Route 90): Take the Turnpike to 24A South Station exit. The off ramp forks; stay to the left toward Kneeland Street. At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Kneeland Street. Turn right at the third set of traffic lights, onto Washington Street. After the third set of traffic lights, there is a parking lot on the right side of Washington Street, close to our store. Take the fourth left onto West Street. (First left after the Paramount Theatre building). Brattle Book Shop is on the right.
From the West via Storrow Drive: Take Storrow Drive East to the Downtown exit, which is inside a tunnel. At the end of the off ramp, turn left onto Beacon, then quickly turn right onto Arlington. Get in the 2nd-to-left lane. At the 1st traffic light, turn left onto Boylston, then quickly cross through the brick divider onto the right side of the divided st. Take Boylston past the Public Garden and Boston Common, then across Tremont . Turn left onto Washington . Landmarks at turn: Registry of Motor Vehicles ahead of you on right. After the first set of traffic lights, there is a parking lot on the right side of Washington Street, close to our store. Take the second left onto West Street. (First left after the Paramount Theatre building). Brattle Book Shop is on the right.
From Cambridge via Mass Ave: Take Route 2A Massachusetts Avenue south over the Harvard Bridge and the Charles River. Turn Left onto Commonwealth Avenue, a wide green boulevard. At the end of the street, turn right onto Arlington. Immediately get in the 2nd-to-left lane. At the 1st traffic light, turn left onto Boylston St., then quickly cross through the brick divider onto the right side of the divided st. From the West via Boylston Street: Take Boylston Street past the Public Garden and Boston Common, then across Tremont Street. Turn left onto Washington Street. From Logan Airport: When leaving Logan, follow signs that say "Airport Exit." After exiting the airport, bear right and follow signs for Sumner Tunnel/Boston." Get into the left lanes for "Government Center/93S" while in the tunnel. Follow the signs for Government Center outside the tunnel. Bear left onto New Chardon Street. Continue up New Chardon Street until it ends and then take a left onto Cambridge Street. Bear right Cambridge Street avoiding the left lanes. City Hall is on your left. Cambridge Street becomes Tremont Street. West Street is on your left, but it is one-way. Continue on Tremont Street to Avery Street. At the end of Avery Street take a left onto Washington Street. Take a left onto West Street after the Paramount Theatre and the traffic light. (First left after the Paramount Theatre building). Brattle Book Shop is on the right.
From the Red Line or Green Line Subway: Take the Red or Green Line to Park Street Station. Above ground, Tremont Street will be the main street near to you. On the Common, you will see the Visitor Information Center building near Tremont Street. West Street is opposite the building. Brattle Book Shop is on the left side of West Street, a short walk from the subway.
From the Orange Line Subway: Take the Orange Line to Downtown Crossing Station. Above ground, you will be at the intersection of two pedestrian streets, Winter / Summer Streets and Washington Street. Stand on Washington Street and walk south, so that Macy's is on the left, and Filene's is behind you and on the left. West Street is the second right. Brattle Book Shop is on the right side of West Street.
From the Blue Line Subway and Logan Airport: Take the Blue Line to State Street Station. Change to the Orange Line, towards Forest Hills. Take the Orange Line one stop to Downtown Crossing Station. Above ground, you will be at the intersection of two pedestrian streets, Winter / Summer Streets and Washington Street. Stand on Washington Street and walk south, so that Macy's is on the left, and Filene's is behind you and on the left. West Street is the second right. Brattle Book Shop is on the right side of West Street.
From North Station Commuter Rail: Take the Green Line Subway inbound to Park Street Station. Above ground, Tremont Street will be the main street near to you.
